Siding and an elevated deck on a hillside build south of the Valley: gray lap over the full two-story shell, and a stilted rear deck on timber posts that turns the slope into usable outdoor space off the main level.

How We Built It
On a slope, the deck is structure first and siding second: the elevated frame bears on six-by-six posts set on poured footings below frost depth, and the ledger was membrane-flashed into the wall before the gray lap went up. The crew worked the hillside off staged scaffolding rather than ladders, which is slower to set up and much faster to side from, and the whole package wrapped in three weeks.
